Self-defence Course
There have been a number of requests of late for KSS to hold another self-defence course. Mr Don Gold has agreed to run one again this year, and it will be in the latter part of August. There will be more details posted in next week’s newsletter.

Howick High Woman’s Day Lunch
Howick High will be holding a Woman’s Day lunch on Wednesday the 9th August at the school. I have been invited to talk on Personal Safety. Crime Stats and Incidents 26 July – 2 August 2017
26-Jul-17 12:34 Business (Hilton) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client reporting that some intruders were stealing timber from his premises. A KSS Reaction unit was dispatched. The KSS Reaction Officers reported that on-site staff confirmed that when the intruders saw the KSS vehicle they dropped the timber and fled. The KSS unit patrolled the area but there were no signs of the suspicious persons. The client advised no need for SAPS.

31-Jul-17 10:00 Business Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client who reported a positive break-in over the weekend. A KSS Reaction unit and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS Reaction Officers reported that access was gained through the back door. Clothing was stolen. SAPS took over the matter.

31-Jul-17 15:55 Business Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the on-site staff member who requested medical assistance. A KSS Reaction unit and ER24 were dispatched. The patient was transported to hospital.

31-Jul-17 16:30 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client who requested assistance as someone had driven into her. As per the client, there was no need to send an ambulance as there were no injuries. A KSS Reaction unit and SAPS were dispatched. SAPS took over the matter.

31-Jul-17 16:30 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client who reported he had found some calf hooves in his yard. As per the client, there were no signs of any forced entry. The client advised no need for a KSS Reaction unit or SAPS.

31-Jul-17 23:59 Business Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Reaction unit was dispatched. The KSS Reaction Officers reported a positive break-in. The sliding door forced open. Items were stolen and the suspects got away in vehicles. The client and SAPS were advised. The KSS Reaction unit did extra patrols.

1-Aug-17 16:54 York Road (Howick) A KSS client called in and requested medical assistance. KSS advised ER24 who took over the matter.

1-Aug-17 Harvard Street (Howick) A KSS client called in and reported that a gas bottle had been stolen during the course of the night from an outside shed. The fence had been cut to gain entry.
