Welcome to 2020. KSS has a very clear vision for 2020, that being to continue to deliver quality service to our clients and ensure that YOU ARE SAFER WITH US!
KSS Operations staff have had a successful start to the year with 2 suspects being apprehended and handed over to SAPS.
Please remember to set your alarms and also ensure that you have protection for garages, out-buildings and wendy-houses. Also ensure that items are not left lying around or visible from the road. Opportunistic theft has been a regular occurrence this past week.
Controller employment opportunity

Incident summary (crime and other)
There were 3 incidents in Howick. There were 3 incidents in Merrivale. There was 1 incident in the Karkloof. There was 1 incident in Birnamwood.
KSS Incidents 1 – 7 January 2020
1 January 2020 14:33 Winterwood Lane (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about a positive break-in to an unalarmed wendy-house and a vehicle. Various items were stolen. SAPS were advised and a case was opened.
2 January 2020 20:45 D292 (Merrivale Rural) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance as they could hear people talking. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suitcase had been stolen from the veranda. The client advised no need for SAPS.
2 January 2020 07:50 Karkloof Road (Karkloof) The KSS Control Room were advised about a positive break-in to an outside storeroom and a vehicle. Various items were stolen. SAPS were advised and a case was opened.
5 January 2020 Birnamwood Road (Birnamwood) The KSS Control Room were advised about an attempted break-in. The fence alarm was activated and the suspects fled the scene. There was also another report of a positive break-in where a laptop and wallet were stolen.
5 January 2019 18:07 Oakleigh Drive (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising about a positive break-in to the garage. The garage was left open and unalarmed. Various tools were stolen. SAPS were advised and a case was opened.
6 January 2020 06:00 Boston/Bulwer Road (Merrivale) An alert KSS Inspector noticed a suspect jumping into a property. KSS Officers managed to apprehend the suspect and recovered stolen items. SAPS were advised and KSS handed the suspect over to SAPS. A case was opened.
6 January 2020 09:15 Oakleigh Drive (Howick) An alert KSS Reaction Officer advised the KSS Control Room that he had apprehended the suspect that had stolen tools from the open garage the previous day. SAPS were advised and KSS handed the suspect over to SAPS. A case was opened.
7 January 2019 15:00 Doveton Place (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a camping table that had been stolen from the veranda. The external beams were not armed. The client advised no need for SAPS.
