Incident summary (crime and other)
There were 6 incidents in Howick. There were 2 incidents in Hilton. There were 2 incidents in Howick West. There was 1 incident in Merrivale. There was 1 incident in Cedara.
KSS Incidents 14 – 24 April 2020
15 April 2020 Midmar Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the window had been broken and the burglar guards bent.
17 April 2020 12:00 D292 (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about a suspect on the premises. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the garage door had been forced open. A brush cutter was stolen. SAPS were advised.
18 April 2020 10:00 Kwela Street, Kwa Mevana (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in to eight (8) unalarmed classrooms. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the classroom doors had been forced open and metal chalkboards had been stolen. SAPS were advised. A case was opened.
18 April 2020 16:23 Hilton Avenue (Hilton) The KSS Control Room were advised about an attempted break-in the previous evening. Nothing was stolen.
19 April 2020 19:50 Falls Drive (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising that items had been stolen. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspects jumped over the fence and stole some tables and umbrellas. SAPS were advised. A case was opened.
20 April 2020 15:45 Mansfield Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a battery had been stolen from a vehicle. SAPS were advised. A case was opened.
21 April 2020 07:04 Essex Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising that the gate battery had been stolen. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that nothing else was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.
21 April 2020 13:52 Gush Avenue (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising that the gate motor was broken and a gate battery had been stolen. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that nothing else was stolen. SAPS were advised.
23 April 2020 03:14 Valley View Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported an attempted break-in to the Wendy house. One plank had been removed. No access was gained. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.
23 April 2020 05:15 Cedara Road (Hilton) The KSS Control Room were advised that there was a building on fire. KSS Response units, Hilton SAPS, other security service providers and the Fire Department were dispatched. The Fire Department took over the scene.
23 April 2020 11:37 D546 (Cedara) The KSS Control Room were advised that ten (10) unalarmed classrooms had been broken into. Items were stolen from the classrooms. A stove was stolen from the kitchen. SAPS were advised. A case was opened.
24 April 2020 08:11 Valley View Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the client had seen a suspect jump over the wall and attempt to steal a bicycle. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.
