Operations update
Congratulations to our alert KSS Control Room Staff and KSS Reaction Officers who have affected more arrests, and continue to respond timeously to clients and alarm activations.
TELEGRAM APP
More efficient communication changes are taking place at Knight Security Solutions (KSS), as we have migrated our SMS system over to the Telegram App.
Telegram has effective new interactive features, which allow our clients (you) the ability to receive alarm activations, log job cards or test your alarm system through the Telegram App’s messenger platform.
KSS officially launch the Telegram App and moved clients over on 1 May 2020.
KSS requests that those clients who do not have an Android or Apple cell phone, and are unable to download Apps, but still require SMS’s to be sent to them, to please email our control room on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call our offices on 033 330 5911 and speak to either Monique or Sashen. Advise them accordingly, and they will ensure that you are still able to receive necessary alarm information via sms.

There were 9 incidents in Howick. There were 4 incidents in Merrivale. There were 3 incidents in Howick West.
KSS Incidents 1 – 10 May 2020
1 May 2020 12:15 Essex Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client advising that a bicycle and jacket had been stolen. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspects had jumped over the fence. SAPS were advised. A case was opened.
2 May 2020 07:06 Laurel Crescent (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised that 2 sails covering machinery had been stolen from the site. SAPS were advised.
3 May 2020 04:56 Valley View Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspects had tried to steal a washing machine, which was recovered at the fence. The client advised no need for SAPS.
3 May 2020 21:55 Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from another security company requesting assistance. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the palisade fence had been damaged. The client advised that some poles had been stolen. SAPS were advised. A case was opened.
4 May 2020 03:00 Taylor Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client advising that an aluminium structure had been stolen. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. SAPS were advised. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
4 May 2020 08:38 Main Road (Howick) A KSS Officer reported to the KSS Control Room that a fence had been cut and a shed door broken. The client confirmed that nothing had been stolen. SAPS were advised.
4 May 2020 09:00 Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. The client advised that the intruder got into the yard and stole a rubbish bin and the gate motor. SAPS were advised.
4 May 2020 20:11 Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a bakkie had reversed into a taxi. SAPS were advised and KSS handed the incident over to SAPS.
4 May 2020 14:30 Buchanan Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client advising that there was a suspect on site and had stolen a radio from a vehicle. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect had run away, but they gave chase and apprehended him. SAPS were advised. KSS Officers handed the suspect over the SAPS.
7 May 2020 04:07 Valley View Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the padlock on the gate had been cut, and the garage door opened. A bicycle had been stolen. SAPS were advised. A case was opened.
7 May 2020 05:32 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a window had been broken. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were advised.
8 May 2020 13:57 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the fence had been cut and the suspects had unsuccessfully tried to steal a vehicle. SAPS were advised.
9 May 2020 07:29 Park Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client advising that there was an intruder on site. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a lawn mower had been stolen. SAPS were advised. A case was opened.
9 May 2020 19:27 Windermere Place (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. The fence was cut and the tool room broken into. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
9 May 2020 22:56 Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a vehicle had filled up with fuel and driven off without paying. SAPS and the UCSI were advised. A case was opened and the vehicle loaded onto SNIPR.
10 May 2020 07:00 (Howick West) Alert KSS Response Officers apprehended the suspect in possession of the bicycle stolen in Howick West on 7 May. The client was advised. The suspect was handed over to SAPS.
