KSS Joint Operations with SAPS
KSS has assisted local Howick and Hilton SAPS with various successful joint operations over the past months. Numerous arrests have been made and a number of illegal items seized. Well done to the dynamic KSS Operations Team for always being there to support our local SAPS.
Howick Hospice Colour Run
Join the Howick Hospice team for the annual colour run on 26 September 2020.

The PhatGMrides
In support of the hospitality industry, two dynamic, local men are taking on this MTB challenge to raise awareness about the impact of the Covid19 lockdown on the hospitality industry.
What: 1000km ride from Lidgeton (KZN Midlands) to Jeffrey’s Bay (E Cape).

Incident summary (crime and other)
There were 5 incidents in Howick. There were 2 incidents in Merrivale. There was 1 incident in Hilton. There was 1 incident in Howick South.
KSS Incidents 1 – 13 September 2020
1 September 2020 04:00 Tumbleweed Road (Howick South) The KSS Control Room were advised about suspects on site. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had cut the lock on the gate and forced a door open. The suspects fled with 5litres of oil. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
3 September 2020 11:00 Geekie Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room was advised about a break-in to a non-KSS client. KSS Response units in the area responded to assist. KSS Officers reported that various items were stolen. Access was gained by jumping a low fence and forcing a cottage window open. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
3 September 2020 16:35 Main Street and Somme Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a robbery. KSS Response units and SAPS were dispatched. KSS Officers reported that suspects were armed and made off with money and cell phones. The suspects’ vehicle was reported to the UCSI. A case was opened.
3 September 2020 18:15 Bell Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that suspects were trying to steal copper pipes. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that copper pipes had been stolen. The client advised no need for SAPS.
6 September 2020 18:45 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call about water running at the address. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers confirmed that copper pipes had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
7 September 2020 07:52 Hillbrow Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had jumped over the wall. A lawn mower and extension cord were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
9 September 2020 20:18 Hilton off-ramp N3 (Hilton) An alert KSS Response Officer noticed a man lying on the N3 tied up, and another truck driver assisting him. The KSS Control Room dispatched SAPS and Midlands EMS. It was established that the man had been hijacked and stabbed in Cato Ridge and then thrown out of his truck at Hilton where another trucker had come to his aid. SAPS took over the matter. A case was opened.
10 September 2020 19:53 Loram Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about an attempted break-in. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect climbed through a fence with a hole in it. Nothing was stolen. The client advised no need for SAPS.
13 September 2020 23:00 Karkloof Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a vehicle had reversed through the fence. KSS Officers assisted the client and secured the fence line.
