Joint operations raids with SAPS
On 18 September 2020 Howick SAPS held a joint operation with the aim of combating crime in the area. Knight Security Solutions again assisted Howick SAPS with this operation. The raids took place at Bush golf, Shiyabazali informal settlement, Howick taxi rank and the informal settlement near the N3. There were 7 arrests made for the possession of drugs and illegal alcohol. Well done to the KSS Operations Team for supporting SAPS and keeping our community safer.

KSS Incidents 14 – 22 September 2020
15 September 2020 02:26 Valleyview Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had stolen a battery from a bakkie. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
15 September 2020 19:50 Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about suspects on the property. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that one of the two suspects had been apprehended. SAPS were dispatched. KSS handed the suspect over to SAPS.
19 September 2020 06:10 Geekie Road (Merrivale) KSS were advised that a vehicle had been stolen from the address. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the vehicle was a yellow Citi Golf. The UCSI and SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
19 September 2020 15:00 Rosedene Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspects had fled the scene. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised.
20 September 2020 22:36 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that a gate motor had been stolen. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers confirmed the report. SAPS were formally advised.
21 September 2020 13:41 Upfold Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the gate motor had been tampered with. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
21 September 2020 23:52 Tulip Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that it was an attempted break-in. Suspects had tried to lift the garage door. Nothing was stolen. The client requested a Security Guard. KSS placed a Security Guard on-site.
22 September 2020 05:34 Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a customer had got aggressive and stolen items. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
22 September 2020 08:53 Plane Crescent (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that various electronic items were stolen. There was no sign of any forced entry. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
