Joint operations raids with SAPS
On Friday 25 September 2020 Howick SAPS held another joint operation with the aim of combating crime in the area. Knight Security Solutions and Magma again assisted Howick SAPS with this operation. The raid took place at Bush golf in the Howick Falls area. There were 2 arrests made for the possession of drugs and illegal alcohol. SAPS, KSS and Magma then conducted a joint patrol through Howick West and Lidgeton.

Well done to the KSS Operations Team for supporting SAPS and keeping our community safer.

There were 3 incidents in Howick. There were 2 incidents in Howick West. There were 2 incidents in Mpophomeni. There was 1 incident in Merrivale.

KSS Incidents 23 – 30 September 2020
23 September 2020 11:24 Valleyview (Howick West) The KSS Control Room were advised about a positive break-in. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the garage had been broken into and items were stolen. The had alarm activated earlier and when KSS Armed Response got to site the client advised all was in order, only to notice later that items had in fact been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

25 September 2020 23:43 R617 Boston Bulwer Road (Mpophomeni) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation from an on-site KSS Security Guard. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there were suspects on site stealing diesel. The suspects fled the scene. KSS advised site Management accordingly.

25 September 2020 03:05 Kwa Haza (Mpophomeni) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. The client confirmed a break-in and KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by cutting the fence. Numerous electronic items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

25 September 2020 16:52 Theed Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room were contacted by the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had jumped over the wall and broken the back door down. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

26 September 2020 15:31 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had entered the premises and were trying to steal tyres when the alarm activated. SAPS drove past on a patrol and managed to identify one of the suspects which they confirmed they would attend to. Items were stolen. A case was opened.

27 September 2020 16:15 Saligna Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised by an on-site KSS Security Guard that he needed assistance. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there were suspects on site who had gained entry by jumping over the wall. The suspects fled the scene. KSS Officers recovered the stolen items. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

28 September 2020 16:14 Rangeview Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation and the client reported that his neighbour had been shot. KSS Response units, SAPS and Midlands EMS were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had shot the gentleman at his gate. The suspects fled the scene on foot. Sadly the gentleman passed away. Our condolences to the family from our KSS Management and Operation teams.

30 September 2020 07:50 Karkloof Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. KSS response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that various items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
