KSS Incident Report 14 - 22 November 2020
Dear KSS Clients
KSS continues to support and work alongside the UCSI (Umngeni Community Safety Initiative) NPC in the fight against crime. On Friday 20 November the UCSI advised Hilton SAPS Crime Prevention Unit about a listed vehicle that had triggered the Hilton Life Hospital gantry. KSS Response units in the area were advised and assisted SAPS. The wanted vehicle was located and the driver was arrested for 7 cases of theft and fraud at various Police Stations around KZN. The vehicle was impounded and the suspect taken into custody.

KSS Incidents 14 – 22 November 2020
14 November 2020 19:15 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. KSS Response units were dispatched. KSS Officers reported that a door had been forced open and the alarm system vandalised. Office chairs were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. A KSS Security Guard was placed on site for the night.
16 November 2020 18.30 R617 (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about an incident of domestic violence. KSS Response units, St Michael’s Ambulance and SAPS were dispatched. The suspect was detained by KSS Officers. Medical treatment was administered and the victim was taken to hospital. The suspect was handed over to SAPS by the KSS Officers.
16 November 2020 19:47 Ridge Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that a generator had been stolen. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported no signs of forced entry. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
17 November 08:27 Old Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that an out-building had been broken into. The lock had been broken. SAPS were formally advised.
18 November 2020 15:30 Pearl Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room were advised that a gate battery had been stolen. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers also reported that the gate had been damaged. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
19 November 2020 10:30 Old Main Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a laptop had been stolen and the suspects had fled in a vehicle. SAPS and the UCSI were formally advised. A case was opened.
21 November 2020 13:40 Park Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that an unalarmed out-building had been broken into. Suspects jumped the fence and climbed through a window. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
21 November 2020 Lawton Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a radio call for back-up from an on-site KSS Response Officer. A shoplifter had been apprehended in the parking lot. SAPS were dispatched. The suspect was handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.
