Crime trend
Please be aware that three out of the five reported incidents over the past 10 days involved the front doors of premises being forced open.

There were 3 incidents in Howick. There was 1 incident in Hilton. There was 1 incident in Merrivale.
KSS Incidents 22 – 31 January 2021
24 January 2021 02:15 Saligna Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the front door had been forced open. The suspects fled. Nothing was stolen. The client advised no need for SAPS.
24 January 2021 03:14 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the front door had been forced open. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised and KSS handed the matter over to SAPS. A case was opened.
24 January 2021 17:35 Lakeview Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Controller spoke to the client who advised that her gate would not open and she needed assistance. KSS Officers assisted the client safely into her house and checked the premises. KSS Officers also reported that the gate battery had been stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
25 January 2021 05:58 Willow Lane (Hilton) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had broken down the front door. A hi-fi was stolen. SAPS were formally advised.
31 January 2021 00:37 Morling Street (Howick) An alert KSS Patrolling Officer reported water coming from the premises. KSS back-up units were dispatched. KSS Officers reported that the fence had been cut and copper pipes stolen. The client was advised and reported to site. The water was switched off. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
