Incident Summary (crime and other)
There were 4 incidents in Howick. There were 3 incidents in Tweedie. There were 2 incidents in Merrivale. There was 1 incident in Howick West. There was 1 incident in Curry’s Post. There was 1 incident in Mpophomeni.
KSS Incidents 12 – 21 April 2021
12 April 2021 03:46 Tweedie Road (Tweedie) The KSS Control Room were advised about a fence activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a perimeter check was done and that the mesh fence had been cut, but the electric fence was undamaged. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols. As per client no need for SAPS.
12 April 2021 07:18 Tweedie Road (Tweedie) The KSS Control Room were advised that the fence had been cut. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the shed door had also been forced open and items stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
12 April 2021 07:20 Tweedie Road (Tweedie) The KSS Control Room were advised by a KSS Response Officer that while on patrol, he noticed a steel cage door open. The client was contacted and confirmed that a generator had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
12 April 2021 16:38 Umgeni Avenue (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised by a patrolling KSS Response Officer that he had been stopped by a resident who needed assistance. The KSS Response Officer reported that a suspect had jumped over the wall, entered the house and stolen a laptop and money. The laptop was recovered. The suspect was apprehended and KSS Officers handed the suspect over to SAPS.
12 April 2021 17:04 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a suspect stealing items. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the stolen items had been recovered but that the suspect had fled. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area. As per the client no need for SAPS.
13 April 2021 12:23 Valley View Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room were advised about suspect on the property. KSS Response Teams were dispatched and patrolled the area looking for the suspects. The KSS Officers reported that clothing had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
14 April 2021 00:36 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect was still inside the premises when they arrived on site. The suspect was apprehended and KSS Officers handed the suspect over to SAPS. A KSS Security Guard was placed on site.
19 April 2021 07:00 Curry’s Post Road (Curry’s Post) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. A KSS Response Team and KSS K9 unit were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had jumped over the fence and then broken an office window. Items were stolen. The KSS sniffer dog was able to track the suspects. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened
19 April 2021 14:35 Saligna Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised that wiring from trucks parked outside had been stolen. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. KSS Officers reported that there was no forced entry to the premises. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
20 April 2021 08:53 Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised that there had been a break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers confirmed that wiring from trucks parked outside had been stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.
20 April 2021 14:00 Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that cables had been stolen from the site. KSS technicians were dispatched to assist the client. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
21 April 2021 09:21 R617 Boston Bulwer Road (Mpophomeni) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reports that chickens had been stolen. Access was gained by crawling under the fence. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
