KSS Response Officers apprehend more suspects.
Proactive and alert KSS Response Officers apprehended a number of suspects these past two and half weeks. Great work from our dedicated team!
Incident Summary (crime and other)
There were 12 incidents in Howick. There were 4 incidents in Merrivale. There were 2 incidents in Tweedie.
KSS Incidents 1 – 17 June 2021
2 June 2021 03:06 Tweedie Road (Tweedie) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by removing 2 slabs of precast wall and a container door had been bent. The suspects fled. KSS placed a Security Guard on site and conducted additional patrols.
4 June 2021 14:06 Geekie Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a neighbour advising that there was an intruder and a window had been broken. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that they apprehended the suspect and recovered an air-conditioning unit. SAPS were formally advised. The suspect was handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.
6 June 2021 07:10 Campbell Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that there were suspects on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. KSS Officers reported that the suspects had fled but that the stolen items had been recovered.
7 June 2021 10:45 Rooken Ridge (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised that there had been a positive break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that outside cables had been stolen.
7 June 2021 17:00 Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that fencing had been stolen. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers confirmed the fencing had been stolen. A Security Guard was placed on site. KSS did additional patrols. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
7 June 2021 19:21 Curries Post Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that a women had been attacked earlier in the day. KSS and the UCSI are both assisting SAPS with the investigation as there was a vehicle involved.
10 June 2021 12:44 Exchange Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a positive break-in. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained through a hole in the fence. Items were stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols.
11 June 2021 15:07 Campbell Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that there was suspect in the yard. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that they apprehended the suspect and recovered the stolen metal. SAPS were formally advised. The suspect was handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.
12 June 2021 22:40 Umgeni Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising that he had noticed that his wheelbarrow had been stolen. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there were no signs of forced entry. KSS Officers patrolled the area and conducted additional patrols in the area throughout the night. As per the client no need for SAPS.
13 June 2021 08:20 R103 (Tweedie) The KSS Control Room were advised about a positive break-in to an unalarmed room. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that some of the fence had been removed and access was gained into an unlocked and unalarmed room. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
13 June 2021 16:39 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that a vehicle had been broken into during the day. The window was broken, and various items were stolen from the vehicle. As per the client no needs for SAPS.
14 June 2021 08:05 Albany Grove (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a positive break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by climbing over the wall. Items were stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.
14 June 2021 08:17 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a positive break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained through an unsecured window. Money was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
16 June 2021 21:20 Market Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that they had recovered the stolen items. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
16 June 2021 08:15 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a stolen gate battery. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the battery cover had been forced open. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
16 June 2021 15:35 Thomas Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about a suspect on site. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a window had been broken but that they had apprehended the suspect as he was trying to flee. SAPS were formally advised. KSS handed the suspect over to SAPS. A case was opened.
17 June 2021 23:26 Campbell Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response unit was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a window had been broken and the fence damaged. The client advised that nothing had been stolen.
17 June 2021 08:55 Ogilvie Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that copper pipes had been stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.
