There were 7 incidents in Howick. There were 4 incidents in Merrivale. There was 1 incident in Merrivale Heights.

KSS Incidents 1 – 11 July 2021
1 July 2021 13:49 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising that while they were in the house, suspects had entered and stolen a laptop and handbag. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. KSS Officers confirmed that there was no forced entry. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

2 July 2021 12:19 Boston Bulwer Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising that suspects were on site trying to steal copper pipes. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspects fled. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

5 July 2021 06:50 Mapholoba Street (Howick South) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the fence had been tampered with and bag of cement stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

5 July 2021 11:00 D795 (Merrivale Rural) The KSS Control Room were advised about a positive break-in. KSS Response units were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported the back door had been kicked down. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

5 July 2021 13:50 Boston Bulwer Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control received a call from the client advising about suspects on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that they recovered the stolen items. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

6 July 2021 14:00 Pascoe Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained through a hole in the fence and the padlock on the gate cut. Copper pipes, taps and other metal fixtures were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

7 July 2021 09:20 Campbell Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a positive break-in. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by jumping the fence. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

7 July 2021 22:10 Campbell Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that one suspect was apprehended and later on another two suspects were apprehended. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

8 July 2021 Birnamwood Road (Merrivale Heights) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the fence had been tampered with. Nothing was stolen.

10 July 2021 06:07 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by jumping the fence. A trailer was broken into. The stolen items were recovered. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

10 July 2021 15:36 Main Street (Howick) An on-site KSS Security Guard radioed in to the KSS Control Room requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had been apprehended for shop-lifting. SAPS were formally advised. The suspect was handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.

11 July 2021 00:31 Eridene Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had gained access to the house through the ceiling. Some items were recovered but a TV was stolen. The KSS K9 unit picked up the scent into the forest but the suspects then fled in a vehicle. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS placed a Security Guard on site.
