There were 6 incidents in Howick. There were 5 incidents in Merrivale. There was 1 incident in Howick West. There was 1 incident in Howick South.
KSS Incidents 1 – 15 August 2021
1 August 2021 22:48 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance as their dogs were barking incessantly. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a break-in to the unalarmed wendy house. Access was gained by jumping the fence and then breaking the padlock. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
8 August 2021 12:05 Campbell Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about suspects on site trying to steal scrap metal. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The suspects fled but KSS Officers were able to recover all the stolen items. As per the client no need for SAPS.
9 August 2021 07:06 R617 Boston / Bulwer Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about a fire on the next door premises. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. KSS Officers reported that they had managed to get the fire under control. The Fire Department were advised. The swift action of KSS and staff members on site resulted in there being no serious damage.
9 August 2021 15:00 Greenfields Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the women had been scammed of her jewellery by a man who had then fled the scene. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
9 August 2021 20:07 Exchange Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation from an on-site Security Guard. KSS Response units were dispatched. The suspect, who was trying to steal poles, fled the scene. Nothing was stolen.
10 August 2021 07:15 Clarendon Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a laptop had been stolen through an open window. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
10 August 2021 11:30 R617 Boston / Bulwer Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had gained access but that nothing was stolen as they had fled the scene.
11 August 2021 20:10 Saligna Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation from an on-site Security Guard. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that staff had been working with the chainsaw and when they put it down to rest, 2 suspects had stolen it. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
13 August 2021 09:00 Berea Road (Howick) The KSS Control Received a call from a client requesting assistance as there had been a positive break-in. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by jumping over that wall and then forcing a window open. Items were stolen. The alarm was not set. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
13 August 2021 09:40 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a delivery driver who advised that a parcel had been stolen from his van. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers managed to recover the parcel. As per the driver no need for SAPS.
14 August 2021 15:00 Vear Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there were no signs of any forced entry and the door was found unlocked. An electronic item was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.
14 August 2021 14:00 Riverview Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect had fled when he saw them arrive. As per the client no need for SAPS.
14 August 2021 21:43 Mapholoba Street (Howick South) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation and well as a CCTV camera detection alert. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect fled the scene as soon as the alarm activated. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.
