KSS Incident Report 22 - 31 October 2021

Dear KSS Clients

Herewith the incidents for the past 10 days. Again, alert KSS Officers have facilitated and assisted with a number of suspects being apprehended.

Incident Summary (crime and other)
There were 5 incidents in Howick. There were 4 incidents in Merrivale. There was 1 incident in Howick West. There was 1 incident in Nottingham Road.

KSS Incidents 22 – 31 October 2021
22 October 2021 00:21 Main Street (Nottingham Road) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A Ballid Response Team in the area was dispatched. The Response Officers reported a positive break-in. Items were stolen. A vehicle was noted leaving the scene and reported accordingly. SAPS and the client were formally advised. A case was opened.

22 October 2021 17:07 Vear Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised that assistance was needed. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that SAPS and Emergency services were on scene. There were no signs of forced entry or items that had been stolen.

24 October 2021 16:20 Holiday Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising that there had been a break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that items had been stolen. Access was gained by jumping the fence. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

24 October 2021 20:06 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that there had been a break-in to an unlocked wendy house. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that electronic items had been stolen. Access was gained by jumping the fence. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

25 October 2021 08:48 Ridge Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising that items had been stolen. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that copper items and pot plants had been stolen. Access was gained by jumping the fence. As per the client no need for SAPS.

26 October 2021 16:41 Geekie Road (Merrivale) A patrolling KSS Response Officer noticed a suspect on site. The suspect was apprehended and found in possession of stolen items. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS handed the suspect over to SAPS.

26 October 2021 09:46 Arctic Circle (Howick West) The KSS Control were contacted by a client who needed assistance as he had apprehended a suspect on site. A KSS Response Team and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect was trying to steal metal items.

30 October 2021 02:00 Shiyaz settlement (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from Howick SAPS requesting assistance as there was a fire in Shiyaz settlement. KSS Response Teams and the Fire Department were dispatched. The fire was brought under control and extinguished.

30 October 2021 18:22 Hayfields Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a suspect trespassing. KSS Response Teams were dispatched to patrol the area. KSS Officers reported that nothing had been stolen or damaged. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

31 October 2021 08:22 Truter Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by jumping the fence. Two vehicles were broken into and a radio and tools stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

31 October 2021 10:30 Shiyaz settlement (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that a client had had his cell phone stolen and the suspect had run into Shiyaz settlement. KSS Response Teams and SAPS were dispatched. KSS Officers reported that the suspect had been apprehended and the cell phone recovered. KSS handed the incident over to SAPS. A case was opened.
