KSS Incident Report 1 - 12 January 2022

Knight Security Solutions (KSS) Management and staff wish all our clients and the community at large a blessed and prosperous 2022.
KSS continues to support the UCSI in combatting vehicle related crimes. Herewith is a brief mention of two successes so far this year:
“On the 2nd of January 2022 the KSS Control Room received a UCSI activation of a Toyota Fortuna that had been reported stolen in Kokstad. KSS units started to search the Howick West area for the vehicle where it was located and handed over to Howick SAPS for further investigation”.
“On Monday 10th of January 2022 the KSS Control Room received a UCSI activation of a Golf that had been stolen in Durban North. Through a quick reaction and great communication from KSS and Magma the vehicle was stopped on Main Street (Howick) where the vehicle was recovered and one suspect was apprehended for possession of stolen vehicle”.

There were 5 incidents in Howick. There was 1 incident in Merrivale. There was 1 incident in Boston. There was 1 incident in Cedara.
KSS Incidents 1 – 12 January 2022
2 January 2022 13:02 Exchange Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that they had apprehended the suspect. Nothing was stolen or damaged. As per the client no need for SAPS.
2 January 2022 01:02 Exchange Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that vehicles on site had been tampered with. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that 8 vehicles had been vandalised and wiring from the engines stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
5 January 2022 13:00 Farm (Boston) A KSS Response Team in the area advised the KSS Control Room that 5 cows had been stolen from a farm in the area. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
6 January 2022 14:38 D546 (Cedara) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a door and burglar guard on a window had been tampered with. Groceries were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. KSS placed a Security Guard on site for the night.
6 January 2022 18:15 Willow Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising of a positive break-in. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a door had been damaged. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
8 January 2022 20:00 R617 Boston Bulwer Road (Merrivale) A KSS Security Guard on site advised the KSS Control Room that a vehicle had rolled into the electric fence and caused damage. KSS Response Teams and Midlands EMS were dispatched. The injured occupants of the vehicle were stabilised and transported to hospital. SAPS and the uMngeni Traffic Department were in attendance. The client was advised and KSS conducted additional patrols of the fence line during the night.
12 January 2022 00:10 Market Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that cables had been cut. The suspect fled the scene. The client was advised.
12 January 2022 04:10 Market Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that they had apprehended and suspect for trespassing. SAPS were formally advised and the suspect was handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.
