There were 5 incidents in Howick. There were 2 incidents in Merrivale. There was 1 incident in Hilton. There was 1 incident in Howick West. There was 1 incident in Pietermaritzburg.

KSS Incidents 25 – 30 April 2022
26 April 2022 03:31 R617 Boston Bulwer Road (Merrivale) The KSS on-site Guard House and main Control Room received a fence activation. KSS Security Guards and a KSS Response Team were dispatched to investigate. The KSS Officers reported that a branch from a tree had fallen onto the fence which resulted in damage. The client was advised.

25 April 2022 09:26 Protea Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance as there was a suspect on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that they had apprehended the suspect. The suspect was in possession of stolen avo’s. As per the client no needs for SAPS.

26 April 2022 14:35 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a vehicle had been stolen. SAPS and the UCSI were advised, and the vehicle details were loaded onto the SNIPR network. A case was opened.

27 April 2022 13:40 Duiker Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client stating that there had been a break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that electronic items had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

27 April 2022 17:25 Bisley (Pietermaritzburg) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. Two suspects were noted trying to cut cables. The KSS Control Room dispatched Magma to investigate further.

28 April 2022 20:00 Mare Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised about a break-in. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had removed a glass panel from a door and gained access. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS placed a KSS Security Guard on-site.

29 April 2022 20:09 Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room was advised that a suspect had been apprehended in possession of a stolen item. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that SAPS were formally advised but did not arrive on scene.

30 April 2022 02:01 Panorama Road (Hilton) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in in progress to their neighbours’ property. KSS Response Teams as well as the security service provider for the property were dispatched. KSS Officers reported that suspects gained access by wedging a piece of wood under the electric fence. A sliding door was wedged open, and a laptop stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

30 April 2022 05:07 Laurel Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a burglar guard had been tampered with. The suspects fled the scene. Nothing was stolen.

30 April 2022 09:18 Mare Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a main failure activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the door had been left open and items appeared to be missing from the premises. The client was advised.
