There were 9 incidents in Howick. There were 5 incidents in Merrivale.
KSS Incidents 1 – 10 May 2022
1 May 2022 17:40 Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the fence had been cut. Nothing was stolen.
1 May 2022 21:40 Karkloof Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised by a KSS Controller at an on-site Control Room that a suspect had been apprehended. The suspect was handed over to SAPS. There were no signs of damage or forced entry.
2 May 2022 03:45 R617 Boston Bulwer Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation from an on-site Security Guard. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a patrolling KSS Security Guard had been shot at by suspects trying to enter the property. The KSS Security Guard was unharmed. No access was gained. The suspects fled. SAPS were formally advised.
2 May 2022 11:04 Rosebank Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the client had left home for 10 minutes and in that time the gate battery had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
3 May 2022 09:40 Loram Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in to a non-KSS client. A KSS Response Team responded and reported that a sliding glass door had been broken and numerous electronic items had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised.
4 May 2022 09:04 Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the gate had been derailed. As per the client no need for SAPS.
4 May 2022 09:15 Hillbrow Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the neighbour had seen a suspect. A small window had been removed from a storeroom. As per the client no need for SAPS.
4 May 2022 19:01 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic and duress activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there were suspects on site. The gate motor had been tampered with, a windowpane broken, and the door forced open. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
5 May 2022 16:41 Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a beam had been stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.
6 May 2022 01:35 Wapenaar Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that it was an attempted break-in. Access was gained to the property by jumping the fence. The suspects fled. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.
8 May 2022 11:03 Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had been apprehended for stealing an item. KSS handed the incident over to Management on site. As per the client no need for SAPS.
9 May 2022 18:25 Wear Avenue (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising that there was an intruder on the neighbouring property. The suspect tried to steal a bicycle but then left the bicycle and fled the scene. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
10 May 2022 02:45 D292 (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised that a suspect had been apprehended stealing cable. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained through a gap in the gates. SAPS were formally advised, and the suspect was handed over. A case was opened.
10 May 2022 07:53 Currys Post Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained to the property over the palisade fence. A window was broken, and a cell phone was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
