Gate batteries have been the most targeted item over the past 5 and a half weeks.

Incident Summary (crime and other)
There were 28 incidents in Howick. There were 9 incidents in Merrivale. There were 6 incidents in Boston. There were 3 incidents in Cedara. There were 3 incidents in Mooi River. There was 1 incident in Nottingham Road. There was 1 incident in Hilton. There was 1 incident in Tweedie. There was 1 incident in Howick West. There was 1 incident in Elandskop.

KSS/AET Incidents 5 July – 14 August 2022 (5½ weeks)

5 July 2022 20:27 Plane Crescent (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS/AET Response Teams and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that there was a domestic dispute. The matter was handed over to SAPS.

5 July 2022 20:32 Main Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised of a dispute. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that a lady had jumped form a vehicle as she felt threatened. SAPS were advised and an Ambulance was dispatched. SAPS took over the incident.

5 July 2022 21:00 Main Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised about an intoxicated customer being difficult to staff. A KSS/AET Response Team and SAPS were dispatched. The incident was resolved and KSS/AET handed the offender over to SAPS.

6 July 2022 08:10 Main Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised about a break-in. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that access was gained through the roof. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no needs for SAPS.

6 July 2022 10:13 D564 (Cedara) The KSS/AET Control Room received a call from a client reporting a break-in. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that access was gained by cutting the fence. A screwdriver was used to force open the security gate and kitchen door. Food was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols in the area.

7 July 2022 09:08 R617 (Boston) The KSS/AET Control Room received a call advising that there had been cable theft. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

7 July 2022 Main Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that copper pipes had been stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols in the area.

8 July 2022 08:42 R617 (Boston) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised that sheep had been stolen. A KSS/AET Response Team and SAPS were dispatched. A case was opened.

8 July 2022 19:06 Mare Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised about a break-in. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that a window had been broken. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

10 July 2022 15:20 Orient Park (Merrivale) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised about a positive break-in. A KSS/AET Inspector was dispatched. Access was gained by cutting the fence. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols in the area.

11 July 2022 10:00 Quarry Road (Hilton) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised about an attempted break-in. A KSS/AET Inspector and SAPS were dispatched to assist. Cables had been cut and a window broken. Nothing was stolen. A case was opened.

11 July 2022 12:54 Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised by a KSS/AET Response Team that suspects were trying to steal tyres. The client advised that they were old tyres and there was no need for SAPS.

12 July 2022 D564 (Cedara) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that the burglar gate and kitchen door appeared to have been forced open. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

12 July 2022 09:33 Sentinel Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised that a gate battery had been stolen. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols in the area.

12 July 2022 11:11 Mare Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that a laptop and bag had been stolen. Access was possibly gained through a lounge window. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

12 July 2022 17:51 Mare Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised about a break-in. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that clothing had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

12 July 2022 17:49 Main Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that access was gained by forcing open the back door. Electronic items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

14 July 2022 23:44 R617 (Boston) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised about suspects on site. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The suspects fled and fired shots at the KSS/AET Officers. No one was harmed and no sheep were stolen. SAPS were formally advised.

14 July 2022 10:22 R617 (Elandskop) The KSS/AET Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that armed suspects had held up the client. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

14 July 2022 13:25 Curry’s Post Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that access was gained through an open window Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

19 July 2022 01:04 Claughton Terrace (Mooi River) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised about a positive break-in. A Ballid Security Response Team was dispatched. The Officers reported that a window had been broken. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

20 July 2022 00:53 Main Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation report from Ballid Security. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that the front door had been broken down and electronic items stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

20 July 2022 00:56 Main Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room were contacted by Blue Security requesting a response to multiple activations. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that the front door had been broken. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened

20 July 2022 10:27 Taylor Road (Merrivale) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised that a client had had an item stolen. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched to assist. The KSS/AET Officers reported that there were no signed of any forced entry. As per the client no need for SAPS.

20 July 2022 01:17 Morling Street (Howick) A patrolling KSS/AET Officer reported that he had found a broken window. Access was gained by jumping over the fence. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

22 July 2022 00:15 R103 (Tweedie) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that the back fence had been cut and the door forced open. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

22 July 2022 08:07 Fraser Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that the gate motor battery had been stolen and the gate had been derailed. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

23 July 2022 17:32 District Road (Merrivale Heights) A Patrolling KSS/AET Officer advised the KSS/AET Control Room that he had come across SSS assisting a couple who had arrived home and found trespassers on their property. The trespassers were apprehended and handed over to SAPS.

24 July 2022 16:00 Main Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised of an attempted break-in. A KSS/AET Inspector was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that a cupboard had been knocked over. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

25 July 2022 04:13 Claughton Terrace (Mooi River) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. A Ballid Security Response Team was dispatched. The Officers reported that the office window had been broken. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

26 July 2022 19:20 Birnamwood Road (Merrivale Heights) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised that there was suspect on site. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols in the area.

27 July 2022 00:46 Main Street (Nottingham Road) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. A Ballid Security Response Team was dispatched. The Officers reported that that glass door had been broken. Items were stolen. The vehicle used in the robbery was loaded onto the SNIPR system. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

28 July 2022 06:13 Doveton Place (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that a gate motor battery had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

28 July 2022 23:59 Claughton Terrace (Mooi River) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. A Ballid Security Response Team was dispatched. The Officers reported that a window had been broken. No access was gained, and nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

29 July 2022 22:29 Eridene Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that there had been a positive break-in to the cottage. Access was gained through a window. A TV was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS/AET placed a Security Guard on site.

29 July 2022 21:28 Jackson Place (Merrivale Heights) The KSS/AET Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that two suspects wearing balaclavas had been in the garden but fled. Nothing was stolen. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols in the area.

31 July 2022 05:28 Monty Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that a brick had been thrown through the back garage window. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

1 August 2022 D292 (Merrivale) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised that the fence had been cut. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols in the area.

2 August 2022 D546 (Cedara) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that a door had been forced open and items may have been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols in the area.

3 August 2022 Ridge Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that a suspect had stolen the clients’ dogs’ blankets and fled. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols in the area.

5 August 2022 Berea Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised that a gate battery had been stolen from the premises. As per the client they would go directly to SAPS. A case was opened.

5 August 2022 Buchanan Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised that a woman had been robbed of jewellery from her premises. The woman was unharmed. A KSS/AET Inspector and SAPS were requested to meet the victim’s son on site. A case was opened. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols.

6 August 2022 Corner of Bell Street and Somme Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received a panic activation from an on-site Security Guard. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that there had been suspects on site and a net had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS/AET posted an additional Security Guard on site.

7 August 2022 Clarendon Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised that a gate motor battery and a globe had been stolen. As per the client no needs for a Response Team or SAPS. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols in the area.

7 August 2022 Bell Street and Somme Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received a panic activation from an on-site Security Guard. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that a water pipe valve had been stolen. The incident was handed over to the client.

7 August 2022 R617 (Boston) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised that sheep were being stolen. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that they went out with staff member sot search but to no avail.

9 August 2022 Bell Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received a panic activation. KSS/AET response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that a window had been broken and items stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

9 August 2022 Exchange Lane (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised that a battery had been stolen from site. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that the on-site Security Guard had noticed the missing battery from a truck and reported it immediately. As per the client he would check and then advise the Control Room on the plan of action.

9 August 2022 Prospect Road (Howick West) The KSS/AET Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that the truck had damaged the guard house. The incident was handed over to the client and resolved.

9 August 2022 D617 (Boston) The KSS/AET Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that suspects had tried to steal a transformer but were disturbed and fled. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

10 August 2022 Fraser Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received a panic activation. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers advised that the battery for the gate motor had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

11 August 2022 D292 (Merrivale) The KSS/AET Control Room received a fence activation. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols in the area.

11 August 2022 Saligna Road (Merrivale) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised by the on-site Security Guard that there were suspects on site trying to steal items. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The suspects were apprehended. The client took over the incident and advised that they would deal with SAPS directly.

13 August 2022 R617 (Boston) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised that cows had been stolen. KSS/AET Officers searched and recovered the cows. The suspects were apprehended. KSS/AET Officers handed the suspects over to SAPS. A case was opened.
