There were 16 incidents in Howick. There were 2 incidents in Howick West. There were 2 incidents in Boston. There were 2 incidents in Merrivale. There was 1 incident in Hilton. There was 1 incident in Cedara.

KSS Incidents 6 September – 3 October 2022 (4 weeks)
6 September 2022 08h57 Oakleigh Drive (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised that a laptop had been stolen. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect had been apprehended. The suspect was handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.

6 September 2022 12h00 R617 (Boston) The KSS Control Room was advised that some livestock had been stolen. A KSS Response Team and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the livestock had been taken through the section of the electric fence that had been switched off. The matter was handed over to SAPS.

7 September 2022 14:46 Sentinel Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the gate motor had been tampered with and the gate battery stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

7 September 2022 20:00 Prospect Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room were advised by the on-site KSS Security Guard that the fence had been damaged by a passing bus which had lost a tyre. The matter was resolved amicably between the two companies. No need for SAPS.

7 September 2022 19:06 Devonshire Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised that there was a suspect on the property. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a bicycle had been stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

7 September 2022 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect fled and dropped the stolen items. The items were recovered and returned to the client. As per the client no need for SAPS.

9 September 2022 15h22 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS Security Guard requesting assistance as he had apprehended a suspect stealing two fire extinguishers. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS handed the suspect over to SAPS. A case was opened.

11 September 2022 05h10 Main Street (Howick) A patrolling KSS Response Team noticed a suspicious person in possession of a generator. They stopped and questioned the man and established it had been stolen. The suspect was handed over to SAPS. Another suspect fled the scene. A case opened.

11 September 2022 06h31 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation from an on-site Security Guard who had had his room broken into. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that items had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened

12 September 2022 18:50 Dick Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised that there was a suspect on the premises. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect had gained access by jumping over the wall. The suspect fled and dropped the stolen items. KSS Officers recovered the items and returned them to the client. As per the client no need for SAPS.

13 September 2022 15:00 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the other suspect who had stolen the generator on 11 September had been spotted. The suspect was apprehended and handed over to SAPS. A case had already been opened.

16 September 2022 Railway Line (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation from a KSS Security Guard who had seen two suspects walking on the railway line carrying cable. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that they suspects dropped the cable and fled. The KSS Officers recovered the stolen cable and additional cable was also recovered. Eskom and SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

16 September 2022 21h21 Hilton Avenue (Hilton) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a window had been broken. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

17 September 2022 00h21 R617 (Boston) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that cables to the pump house had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised.

22 September 2022 18:30 D546 (Cedara) The KSS Control Room was advised about a suspect on site. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect fled. Nothing was stolen.

25 September 2022 05:00 Dale Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising that the gate motor battery had been stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

26 September 2022 23:55 Campbell Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers apprehended one suspect trying to steal metal. SAPS were formally advised. The suspect was handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.

27 September 2022 07:33 Campbell Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client advising that a cable had been stolen. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

29 September 2022 07:53 Riverview Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a Panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a customer had had their cell phone stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

29 September 2022 09:28 Campbell Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client advising about a positive break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that cable had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

30 September 2022 15:00 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a break-in. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

1 October 2022 14:00 Mopani Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that electrical cables had been tampered with. The client was advised. A KSS Security Guard was placed on site.

3 October 2022 10:30 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client advising that items had been stolen. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. SAPS was formally advised. A case was opened.

3 October 2022 12:00 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation from an on-site Security Guard. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported an armed robbery had occurred. Five suspects, two of which were armed, had stolen cell phones and money. The suspects fled on foot. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

3 October 2022 14:12 Gush Avenue (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site. The suspect fled and dropped the stolen items. The KSS Officers recovered the stolen items and handed them back to the client.
