KSS is no longer partnering with AET and Gary, Renee, Sashen, Pat and the team will continue to ensure that we operate to the highest standards.

Incident Summary (crime and other)
There were 6 incidents in Merrivale. There were 3 incidents in Howick. There was 1 incident in Hilton. There was 1 incident in Cedara. There was 1 incident in Mpophomeni.

Incident Report 18 December 2022 – 4 January 2023
18 December 2022 09h16 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that there was a theft in progress. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers advised that a suspect had been apprehended. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

20 December 2022 07h59 Hillbrow Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was a suspect on site. The suspect was apprehended. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

21 December 2022 14h08 Chaplin Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room was advised that 3 vehicles had been broken into. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that radios and batteries had been stolen. Access was gained by jumping the wall. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

25 December 2022 11h00 R617 (Merrivale Heights) The KSS Control Room was advised about a break-in. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that items had been stolen. Access was gained by jumping the fence then going through an unlocked door. SAPS were formally advised.

27 December 2022 18h26 D292 (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from an on-site KSS Security Officer requesting as back-up as there were suspects on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The suspect fled. All stolen items were recovered.

29 December 2022 08h40 Symmonds Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising that copper pipes had been stolen. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had also stolen cable and gained entry over the fence. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

30 December 2022 15h44 Holiday Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site. Electronic items were stolen. Access was gained through an open window. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

31 December 2022 08h56 R617 (Mpophomeni) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had gained access by cutting the fence and then breaking a lock and chain to a container and the lock on the gate and door to the main house. Numerous items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

HAPPY NEW YEAR – Welcome 2023

1 January 2023 22h19 Bramble Lane (Hilton)The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by jumping the fence and breaking the door. The suspect fled. Electronic items were stolen later recovered. KSS placed a Security Guard on site.

1 January 2023 02h40 Hillbrow Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client as there was a suspect on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the caravan had been broken into. The suspects fled. The stolen items were dropped and recovered. As per the client no need for SAPS.

2 January 2023 17h35 D546 (Cedara) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that 2 windows had been broken. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

2 January 2023 19h58 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client advising that a ladder had been stolen. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect could not be located. The client advised he would go to SAPS and open a case.

OLARM App information from KSS
Your OLARM App which allows you remote access and control over tour home alarm system, can now be linked to your house sitter for time-based access. This ensure that you can monitor the status of your alarm even while you’re away.

Contact KSS to check if your alarm system is compatible with the OLARM App and for any upgrades on your current system.
