KSS Incidents 18 – 31 March 2023
18 March 2023 19:24 Wear Avenue (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had gained access to the property by jumping the fence and had stolen a TV. KSS Officers recovered the TV. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
18 March 2023 20:15 Plane Crescent (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a fence and panic activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site and access was gained through a hole in the fence. An item was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
20 March 2023 15:30 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site. The power cables had been tampered with and a steel table had been stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.
22 March 2023 15:08 Upfold Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised that suspects had jumped a fence into a property and stolen a gas cylinder. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that as per the client no need for SAPS.
22 March 2023 19:31 Hayfields Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a break-in. The suspects gained access through the garage doors which lead through to the main house. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
23 March 2023 22:00 Darvill Road (Pietermaritzburg)The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. An Amlec Response Team was dispatched. The Response Officers reported that the suspect fled when the alarm activated. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised.
25 March 2023 10:00 Karkloof Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised about a break-in. A KSS Response Team were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained through unlocked doors while the client was at home. Jewellery was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
25 March 2023 12:53 Karkloof Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised about a break-in. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there were no signs of forced entry as the garage door had been left unlocked. Items were stolen. SAPS for formally advised. A case was opened.
25 March 2023 20:27 Mathandubisi (Howick West) The KSS Control Room was informed by a KSS Response Officer that a Response Officer from another security company had been shot in the abdomen. SAPS and St Michaels Ambulance Services were dispatched. The Officer was taken to hospital for further treatment. A case was opened.
26 March 2023 04:22 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room were advised that suspects had jumped a fence into a property and stolen a gas cylinder. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that as per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
26 March 2023 15:59 Harvard Street (Howick) A KSS Security Officer called in to the KSS Control Room to report smoke coming from a nearby building. KSS Response Teams and the Fire Department were dispatched. KSS Officers fought the fire until the Fire Department arrived. The fire was extinguished. No one was injured. SAPS were formally advised.
30 March 2023 10:27 Rosebank Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a break-in. Access was gained by jumping over the back gate and then breaking the garage window. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
