KSS Officers apprehended two suspects over the past two weeks. Well done to our dedicated Operations Team.

KSS Incidents 16 October – 1 November 2023
16 October 2023 12:51 Bell Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had been apprehended. Items had been stolen from an unlocked storeroom. The matter was handed over the client.

17 October 2023 16:45 Modder Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a resident requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that water was rushing out of the neighbour’s property. The client was contacted and advised. Copper pipes were stolen. SAPS were formally advised.

18 October 2023 07:54 Market Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was a suspect on site. Access was gained by jumping over the palisade fence. The suspect fled. A hose pipe was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

18 October 2023 08:54 Old Main Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was an attempted break-in. Access was gained through the fence, but the suspects disturbed a beehive and buzzed off.

19 October 2023 00:16 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a braai stand had been stolen from the site. Access was gained by jumping over the wall. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

19 October 2023 02:54 Bell Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a door had been left open and a window cracked. The client was advised.

19 October 2023 06:00 Old Main Road (Merrivale) A patrolling KSS Response Officer reported that copper pipes from the air-conditioning unit had been stolen. The client and SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

19 October 2023 08:32 Birnamwood Road (Birnamwood) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a generator had been stolen. Access was gained by cutting the fence. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

19 October 2023 14:45 Dalton Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised about a break-in. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by jumping over the main gate and getting through an unlocked door into the office. A laptop was stolen. SAPS were formally advised.

19 October 2023 16:47 Neptune Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by breaking the kitchen door. Numerous electronic items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

20 October 2023 01:30 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised that a patron had reversed into a pole. No serious damages were reported. The matter was dealt with by the client and resolved amicably.

20 October 2023 09:48 Elizabeth Drive (Hilton) The KSS Control Room received a call from the resident requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had gained access by digging under the fence. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

21 October 2023 10:42 R617 (Boston) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a boat had gone missing. The client was not sure if it had been stolen or sunk to the bottom of the dam. A perimeter check was done and there were no signs of any forced entry.

21 October 2023 10:38 Berea Road (Howick) The KSS Control room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that items had been stolen from an unlocked garage. The KSS Officers spotted the suspect in the CBD who dropped the stolen items and fled. The items were recovered. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

21 October 2023 15:31 Greenfields Place (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a caravan had been broken into. Access was gained through the fence and then an open window in the caravan. A TV was stolen. SAPS were formally advised.

22 October 2023 00:28 Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received alarm activation and a duress activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a fight had broken out. The matter was resolved. As per the client no need for SAPS.

22 October 2023 09:00 Karkloof Road (Karkloof) The KSS Control Room was advised by Ballid Security about a positive break-in. A Ballid Response Team was dispatched. The Officers reported that a window had been broken. An electronic items was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

22 October 2023 09:17 Greenfields Place (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a caravan window had been broken. The suspect fled. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised.

26 October 2023 03:48 D292 (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a fence activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had forced a window open. The suspect fled when the client shouted at him. No access was gained. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

31 October 2023 21:59 Oakleigh Drive (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised about a suspect on site. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect fled after being disturbed by the client. Nothing was stolen.

1 November 2023 03:44 Oakleigh Drive and Rosebank Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a street CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that two suspects were seen running down the road. KSS Officers gave chase and managed to apprehend one suspect. SAPS were formally advised and KSS handed the suspect over to SAPS. A case was opened.
