KSS Incidents 1 – 16 November 2023
1 November 2023 12:04 Rosebank Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained through the fence and then forcing the veranda door open. Numerous items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

2 November 2023 07:26 Tweedie Road (Tweedie) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by removing precast slabs from the wall and kicking down two doors. A fridge and brush cutter were stolen. That section of the house was unalarmed. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

5 November 2023 18:16 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that copper pipes had been stolen. There were no signs of forced entry. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

5 November 2023 20:11 Oakleigh Drive (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was a suspect on site. Access was gained by jumping over the fence. The suspect fled. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. An Incident Report was filed.

6 November 2023 06:11 Loram Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the fence had been cut and suspect tried to steal a vehicle by pushing it out the yard. The vehicle slid on the wet grass and got stuck next to a tree. The suspects stole the vehicle battery (consolation prize). SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

6 November 2023 06:52 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects gained access by jumping over the fence. A gazebo was stolen from an open veranda. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

6 November 2023 06:25 R617 (Boston) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects were seen on-site. The suspects fled and dropped a bag full of meat. One slaughtered cow was found. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

6 November 2023 11:29 Umgeni Avenue (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspect had jumped over the fence and stolen numerous items from an unlocked vehicle on site.

7 November 2023 21:37 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation as well as an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was a suspect on site. Access was gained by jumping over the fence. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

7 November 2023 21:41 Karkloof Road (Karkloof) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that lock to the workshop had been cut. A brush cutter was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

8 November 2023 15:50 Rosebank Gardens (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a hose pipe was recovered but a braai stand was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

9 November 2023 01:58 Hilton College Road (Hilton) The KSS Control Room were advised by an alert patrolling KSS Response Team that the access gate to the premises had been knocked and damaged. The on-site CCTV cameras were checked and then the vehicle details were loaded into the UCSI SNIPR system. The vehicle was identified. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

10 November 2023 03:55 Geekie Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there were suspects on site. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

11 November 2023 08:44 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had gained access to the house and was armed with a knife. The suspect fled. CCTV footage of suspect was obtained, and the suspect was apprehended by KSS Officers in Symmonds Lane. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

13 November 2023 06:34 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a chain on the gate had been cut. Batteries from vehicles and other tools were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

13 November 2023 17:34 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a radio call from an on-site KSS Security Officer. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that an elderly man had been scammed and money stolen. The suspect was apprehended. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

14 November 2023 07:37 Umgeni Avenue (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect was trespassing. Nothing was stolen. The suspect was apprehended. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

14 November 2023 08:13 Anderson Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a man was selling stolen items and had been detained. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

15 November 2023 21:24 Chaplin Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a vehicle had been stolen. SAPS and UCSI were advised. The vehicle was recovered a few hours later by alert KSS Officers. The client took over the matter as it turned out to be a domestic matter.

16 November 2023 02:00 Curries Post Road (Curries Post) The KSS Control Room received a call from Ballid Security advising that there were suspects on site. A Ballid Response Team and SAPS were dispatched. Numerous electronic items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
