KSS Getting Involved in the Community
The KSS K9 Team did another entertaining dog demo on Saturday 25 November on the open field near the Howick Community Church. Another great Team effort by KSS and enjoyed by all who watched.

KSS Incidents 16 November – 3 December 2023
16 November 2023 19:10 Falls Drive (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect fled and dropped the stolen items. KSS Officers recovered the stolen items. Access was gained by jumping over the fence.

19 November 2023 18:15 Buchanan Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was a break-in. Cash was stolen. The backdoor was forced open, and the window broken. The alarm was not armed. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

20 November 2023 04:20 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a gate was not fully closed. The client was advised.

20 November 2023 09:23 Saligna Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by bending the palisade fence. A gas cylinder and gas stove were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

21 November 2023 07:46 Philpot Street / Miller Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised about someone that had been mugged. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The suspect was apprehended in Berea Road and a cell phone recovered.

21 November 2023 09:03 D795 (Merrivale Rural) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that an unalarmed garage had been broken into. A brush cutter was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

21 November 2023 11:07 Valley View Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. The client advised that all was in order and cancelled the KSS Response Team. Later the client called to report that there had in fact been e break-in. Items were stolen from the unlocked garage. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

21 November 2023 18:24 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that six suspects had tried to force staff to give them the codes for the tills. The staff advised that they did not know the codes and the suspects assaulted them and fled. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

22 November 2023 00:12 Munro Road (Munster) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. GP Security were dispatched. GP Security Officers reported that there were suspects on site. The suspects fled. Nothing was stolen. GP Security conducted additional patrols in the area.

22 November 2023 21:17 Prospect Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a KSS Security Guard had tested drivers and they were under the influence of alcohol. Back-up was sent to site to assist the Security Guard and the client was advised.

23 November 2023 22:59 Berea Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a cottage had been broken into. Some electronic items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

24 November 2023 12:20 Midmar Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by jumping over the wall. An unlocked garage was opened. Nothing was stolen.

27 November 2023 10:10 Oleander Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by jumping over the fence. A spotlight was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

27 November 2023 16:37 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that cable was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

27 November 2023 19:03 Oleander Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the alarm had been tampered with. The client was advised. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

28 November 2023 21:21 Tulip Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by jumping the fence. The suspects fled. Nothing was stolen. The client was very happy with the service and response time.

29 November 2023 06:51 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised about suspects on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects gained access by removing a slab from a pre-cast wall. Electrical cables were stolen. SAPS were formally advised.

29 November 2023 12:33 R617 (Boston) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that 2 cows had been stolen. Access was gained by cutting the fence. The SNIPR cameras were checked, and SARS were formally advised. A case was opened.

30 November 2023 22:40 Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the gate motor had been damaged. Nothing was stolen. The client was advised.

30 November 2023 20:45 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance as the dogs were restless. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that copper pipes had been broken. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

3 December 2023 07:24 Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room was advised about a vehicle that had driven into a fence and wall. The client was advised and came to site. The driver details were obtained a plan to repair the damages was discussed. KSS handed the matter over to the client.
