KSS Incidents 4 – 21 December 2023
7 December 2023 08:17 Lorna Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a gas cylinder had been stolen. KSS conducted patrols in the area and spotted the suspect. The suspect was apprehended, and the gas cylinder, as well as copper pipes were recovered. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

8 December 2023 23:48 Old Main Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a UCSI SNIPR activation about a stolen vehicle. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the vehicle was stopped in Howick and the driver apprehended. SAPS were formally advised and took over the matter. The vehicle was impounded.

9 December 2023 09:30 Mare Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that clothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

11 December 2023 12:30 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS Security Guard requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that clothing had been stolen. The suspect was apprehended, and the items returned. KSS handed the matter over to the store manager.

12 December 2023 05:34 Saligna Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS Security Guard requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by jumping over the fence. Metal sheets were recovered nearby on the railway line. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

13 December 2023 20:38 Exchange Lane (Howick) A patrolling KSS Response Team noticed suspects carrying a JOJO tank. The suspects fled and dropped the JOJO tank. KSS Officers recovered the tank. The client was informed. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

14 December 2023 01:51 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation and a mains failure. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. There was a suspect on site who fled. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

17 December 2023 18:44 Cargill Crescent (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by removing a concrete slab in the wall and then damaging the garage door. A window was also broken. A chainsaw was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

18 December 2023 23:53 Protea Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site. A garden light was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

18 December 2023 09:53 Hillbrow Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a gate had been tampered with. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

19 December 2023 19:27 1 Falls Drive (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a chair had been stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

21 December 2023 06:50 Saligna Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room was advised about a break-in. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by cutting the fence. The garage door was forced open. Items were damaged. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
