KSS Incidents 22 – 31 December 2023
22 December 2023 14:32 Orient Park (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a door had been forced open. SAPS were formally advised, and a Security Guard was placed on-site.

22 December 2023 18:53 Orient Park (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the fence had been cut and the locks on the container cut and the door forced open. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

23 December 2023 01:00 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a fire alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that cables had been cut. The client and SAPS were advised. A case was opened.

25 December 2023 09:00 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised by a KSS Inspector that a storage cage had been broken into. The client was advised. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

25 December 2023 14:28 Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the fence had been damaged. Nothing was stolen. The client was advised. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

26 December 2023 20:04 Tweedie Road (Tweedie) The KSS Control Room was advised by an on-site patrolling KSS Security Guard that cable had been cut and the kitchen door chain broken and forced open. Electronic items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

27 December 2023 23:05 Bell Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the lock on the burglar gate and a window were broken. Suspects fled when the alarm activated. The stolen items were recovered. As per the client no need for SAPS.

27 December 2023 13:30 Laurel Crescent (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the fence had been tampered with. Scrap metal and a plastic bin were stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

27 December 2023 17:00 Mopani Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that copper piping had been stolen and water was flowing out. KSS Officers managed to contain the water flow. The client was advised.

28 December 2023 05:30 Curry’s Post Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised by an on-site KSS Security Guard that there were 3 suspects on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The suspects fled. Nothing was stolen. The client was advised.

28 December 2023 15:30 Larkspur Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there were suspects on site. Building items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

29 December 2023 07:46 Valley View Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation.
KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was a suspect on site. Access was gained by jumping the main gate and then trying to force a window open. The suspect fled when the panic was activated. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

29 December 2023 15:32 Mopani Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that CCTV camera activations had picked up two suspects on site. The suspects fled. KSS Officers managed to apprehend 1 suspect and recovered numerous stolen items. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

29 December 2023 20:04 Laurel Crescent (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the fence had been damaged. The client was advised. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

29 December 2023 23:24 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that items had been stolen. Access was gained through a hole in the fence and then an unlocked door. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

30 December 2023 06:54 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was a suspect on site. CCTV footage revealed which way the suspect fled, and he was apprehended in Mare Street in possession of stolen items. The suspect was handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.

30 December 2023 13:23 Cedara Road (Hilton) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that wendy house floorboards were loose. The client was advised and confirmed that there had been a break-in. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

31 December 2023 07:59 Tweedie Road (Tweedie) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that an unalarmed container had been broken into. Access was gained by breaking the locks. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

31 December 2023 18:44 Tweedie Road (Tweedie) The KSS Control Room received a call from an on-site KSS Security Officer to report that he had found a roller door open while on patrol. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by cutting through the fence. Nothing was stolen. The client was advised. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
