KSS Incidents 1 – 17 February 2024
1 February 2024 15:00 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised by KSS Security Guards that there had been an MVA. KSS Response Teams, SAPS and the Traffic Department were dispatched. KSS handed the incident over to SAPS.

2 February 2024 20:32 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been suspects on site. A water pipe was damaged. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

2 February 2024 08:45 Tweedie Road (Tweedie) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects were seen running down the road with barbed wire fencing. The suspects dropped the wire and fled. KSS Officers recovered the wire and dropped it off with SAPS. The client was advised accordingly.

4 February 2024 18:40 Lawton Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a SNIPR activation for a vehicle using cloned registration plates. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers located the vehicle and detained the driver. SAPS were formally advised. The vehicle was impounded, and SAPS took over the matter.

4 February 2024 19:01 Boston Bulwer Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS Security Guard requesting assistance with the electric fence. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a vehicle had rolled into the fence. The client was advised. KSS placed another Security Guard on site. As per the client no need for SAPS.

5 February 2023 16:45 Wiese Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had gained entry by jumping the fence. A bathroom window was broken. Items were stolen. SAPS were advised. A case was opened.

7 February 2024 15:09 Boston Bulwer Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site. Items were stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

9 February 2024 15:37 Exchange Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had been apprehended trying to steel machine parts. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

9 February 2024 Boston Bulwer Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS Security Guard requesting assistance as there was a suspect on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect had been apprehended. SAPS were formally advised. KSS handed the suspect over to SAPS.

11 February 2024 16:02 Bell Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the CCTV camera cables had been cut. Nothing was stolen.

11 February 2024 18:55 Laurel Crescent (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm and CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there were no signs of forced entry. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

12 February 2024 16:00 Market Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a break-in during loadshedding when the gate was deactivated. Numerous items were stolen, and the ceiling lights damaged. SAPS were formally advised.

12 February 2024 18:53 Devine Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site. The kitchen door was forced open. Access was gained by jumping over the wall. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols.

13 February 2024 08:20 Valley View Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there were suspects on site. Nothing was stolen.

13 February 2024 12:35 Karkloof Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a UCSI SNIPR activation. KSS Response Teams and SAPS were dispatched. The vehicle was located, and the driver escorted to SAPS. SAPS took over the matter.

14 February 2024 22:52 Laurel Crescent (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site. The suspect fled when the alarm activated. Nothing was stolen.

15 February 2024 21:02 D795 (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a man had been assaulted by three suspects. SAPS and an Ambulance were dispatched. The man was taken to hospital for further treatment. A case was opened. KSS placed a Security Guard on site and conducted additional patrols.

16 February 2024 09:47 Exchange Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the power cable to the CCTV camera system had been cut. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

16 February 2024 10:53 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had been apprehended for shoplifting. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

17 February 2024 14:24 Laurel Crescent (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received alarm and CCTV camera activations. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a light had been stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

17 February 2024 20:41 Laurel Crescent (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site. Access was gained by jumping over the wall. A solar light was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
