KSS Incidents 18 February – 3 March 2024
18 February 2024 16:02 Karkloof Road (Karkloof) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a staff member was apprehended as she was in possession of a stolen item. As per the client he would handle the matter further.

19 February 2024 21:18 Curries Post Road (Curries Post) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. A KSS Response Team, Magma Team and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects were seen on site trying to steal solar panels. The suspects were apprehended. The stolen items were recovered. The suspects were handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.

20 February 2024 13:15 Bell Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a UCSI SNIPR alert. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the vehicle was stopped. The driver and vehicle were escorted to Howick SAPS. The matter was handed over to SAPS as the vehicle was a recovered stolen vehicle and the status needed to be updated on the SAPS system. The matter was resolved.

20 February 2024 12:00 D494 (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team and the KSS K9 Unit were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the fence had been cut. A compressor was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

22 February 2024 04:22 Carel Orthman (Merrivale Heights) The KSS Control Room was advised that a client needed assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a vehicle had been broken into. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

25 February 2024 07:26 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS Security Officer requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the toilets had been vandalized. SAPS were formally advised. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

26 February 2024 09:30 Market Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a small kitchen appliance had been stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

28 February 2024 10:30 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that copper pipes and a kitchen appliance had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

28 February 2024 10:57 R617 (Boston) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS Reaction Officer advising that while on patrol he had noticed a suspect stealing crops on farm. The suspect was apprehended. The client was advised. The suspect was handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.

28 February 2024 10:36 D546 (Cedara) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been an attempted break-in. A window was broken, and two computer screens were found lying next to the window. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

28 February 2024 19:00 R617 (Boston) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS Reaction Officer advising that a suspect had been apprehended for stealing crops. The client was advised. The suspect was handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.

29 February 2024 21:45 Church Lane (Hilton) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site. The suspect fled when the alarm activated. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised.

29 February 2024 08:06 Neptune Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the post box had been stolen. The client was advised. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

1 March 2024 03:28 R617 (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that goats had been stolen. A case was opened.

3 March 2024 11:12 Boston Bulwer Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a positive break-in. Access was gained through an unlocked back gate. Taps were stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.
