KSS Incidents 2 – 16 June 2024
5 June 2024 02:29 Flamingo Drive (Hilton) The KSS Control Room received an alert about a break-in. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that two suspects were seen fleeing from the premises. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

6 June 2024 11:30 Karkloof Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the client had gone out shopping, and in that time an intruder had stolen jewellery. The backdoor had been left unlocked. As per the client no need for SAPS.

7 June 2024 13:30 D292 (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room was advised about a break-in. A KSS Manager attended and reported that two batteries from a solar panel box had been stolen. There were no signs of forced entry. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

7 June 2024 15:23 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised about an incident on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. SAPS was also on site. Three suspects were apprehended for shoplifting. The suspects were taken to SAPS. A case was opened.

8 June 2024 03:20 R103 (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that burglar bars had been bent and a window broken. The client was advised. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

11 June 2024 09:19 Mansfield Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised that there had been a suspect on site two days earlier. Access was gained by jumping over the back wall. Solar lights were stolen. The suspect fled when he was spotted by the client. As per the client no need for SAPS or KSS to attend.

12 June 2024 22:53 Laurel Crescent (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained through the fence. A sack was found with old vehicle parts in it. The client was advised.

15 June 2024 21:30 Saligna Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a duress signal. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a battery from a truck had been stolen. A suspect was apprehended. SAPS were formally advised. No case was opened due to lack of evidence.

16 June 2024 01:43 Cedara Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a vehicle had driven through the fence. Ambulance services were dispatched. The driver was inebriated and lost control of the vehicle. SAPS were formally advised

16 June 2024 07:56 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised that a vehicle had put in R100 fuel and then driven off without paying. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the CCTV cameras were able to identify the registration of the vehicle. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. The vehicle was loaded onto the UCSI SNIPR system.
