KSS Incidents 4 – 19 March 2025
7 March 2025 23:35 Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised that there was a suspect on the roof at the premises. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect fled. Nothing was stolen but he was trying to remove a solar panel. The client was advised. KSS Officers handed the solar panel over the client. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

9 March 2025 06:07 Memory Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had jumped into the property but fled immediately when the alarm activated. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

9 March 2025 12:36 Laurel Crescent (Merrivale) An alert KSS Response Officer was patrolling when he noticed a block placed outside a window. On further inspection he noticed a spanner on the window sill. The client was advised. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

12 March 2025 09:18 Greenfields Place (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about a fence that had been cut. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a break in. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised.

13 March 2025 22:44 Main Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was a suspect on site who fled. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

13 March 2025 06:31 Greenfields Place (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was a suspect on site who fled when he realised he had been seen. Access was gained by cutting the fence. Nothing was stolen. The client was advised.

13 March 2025 11:40 Truter Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a resident requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was a suspect on site. The suspect was apprehended. Access was gained by jumping the fence. Stolen items were recovered. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

14 March 2025 17:22 Greenfields Place (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The suspect was apprehended in possession of various stolen items. The items were recovered. The client was advised. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

14 March 2025 18:36 Karkloof Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised about a break-in to unlocked premises the previous day. Access was gained through the unlocked front door. Various electronic items were stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

15 March 2025 12:33 D292 (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a silent duress signal. The client confirmed that he had been advised by his neighbours that there were suspects on site stealing mielies. KSS Response Teams were dispatched to patrol the area. Access was gained by climbing through the fence. The suspects fled. The client flew a drone over the fields and there were no suspects visible.

16 March 2025 04:03 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had been apprehended in possession of a stolen item. SAPS was formally advised. KSS handed the matter over to SAPS.

16 March 2025 09:21 Cherry Lane (Hilton) KSS Management was advised about a break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by crawling under the fence and then opening a sliding window. Electronic items were stolen. The alarm was not set. SAPS were formally advised.

17 March 2025 12:20 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised by an on-site KSS Security Officer that there was a shoplifter on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that that shoplifter had been apprehended. As per the store manager no need for SAPS as the suspects parents were advised and paid for the stolen items.

17 March 2025 19:38 Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that they apprehended a suspect on site. Access was gained by crawling under the fence. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

18 March 2025 07:51 Main Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by cutting the fence. Batteries were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

18 March 2025 12:10 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from an on-site KSS Security Officer requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that two suspects had been apprehended by in-store staff for shoplifting and needed assistance with the matter. The stolen items were returned. SAPS were formally advised. KSS handed the matter over to store management and SAPS.

19 March 2025 08:15 Campbell Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that that there had been a positive break in. Access was gained by jumping the fence and climbing through a back window. Various cables were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
