KSS Incidents 1 – 15 May 2025
6 May 2025 11:45 Karkloof Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client reporting a positive break-in. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that money had been stolen. There were no signs of forced entry as the sliding door was left unlocked. SAPS were formally advised.
7 May 2025 16:18 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a radio call from an on-site KSS Security Guard advising that a suspect had been apprehended for stealing. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect was handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.
9 May 2025 11:25 Morling Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room was advised by a patrolling KSS Response Team that a trespasser had been apprehended jumping out of a property. The client confirmed that the suspect had been trying to steal items when he was spotted and fled. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
9 May 2025 23:50 Midmar Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect tried to attack them and fled. Nothing was stolen. Access was gained by cutting the fence with bolt cutters which were recovered at the scene. The suspect also tried to damage the alarm system. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
13 May 2025 14:40 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from Ballid Security requesting a response to an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had entered the premises posing as customers and then stole a cell phone and fled in a vehicle. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. The vehicle details were loaded onto SNIPR.
14 May 2025 08:14 D546 (Cedara) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS officers reported that there had been a break-in. Access was gained by cutting the fence and then bashing a wall down into an unalarmed strong room. Numerous electronic items, brush cutters, cell phones and cash was stolen. SAPS and forensics were advised. A case was opened.
14 May 2025 20:10 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that copper pipes attached to the geyser had been stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
15 May 2025 08:10 D546 (Cedara) The KSS control room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Supervisor was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a break-in. Access was gained by cutting a hole in the fence. A window was broken, and the wall was damaged. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised and attended. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
