Suspects apprehended
Numerous suspects have been apprehended by alert KSS Officers over the past 3 weeks. Thank you to all the KSS Operations staff for the great work in the field and in the control room.

KSS Incidents 10 – 31 July 2025
11 July 2025 13:20 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS on-site Security Guard requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had been apprehended for shoplifting. SAPS were formally advised. KSS handed the suspect over to SAPS. A case was opened.

13 July 2025 18:25 Exchange Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation showing a suspect on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect had fled. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

14 July 2025 10:16 Paddock Crescent (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site. Access was gained by jumping over the fence. A hosepipe and pool cleaner were stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

14 July 2025 13:15 Greenfields Place (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation showing a suspect on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that they apprehended the suspect in possession of an extension cord. Access was gained through the fence. SAPS were formally advised. KSS handed the suspect over to SAPS. A case was opened.

14 July 2025 18:12 Exchange Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect was cutting diesel pipes under a truck but fled when he realised he had been spotted. KSS Officers later apprehended the suspect in town. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

15 July 2025 11:25 Railway Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a message stating that two suspects had stolen 3 metal chairs. KSS Response teams were advised and while on patrol came across a suspect. The suspect was apprehended by KSS Officers. SAPS were formally advised. KSS handed the suspect over to SAPS. A case was opened.

17 July 2025 13:00 Mare Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had stolen a hosepipe. Access was gained by jumping over a fence from tree on the verge. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

18 July 2025 08:04 Paddock Crescent (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a positive break-in. Access was gained by jumping over the back fence. Various garden items and lawn mower were stolen from an unlocked garage. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

19 July 2025 11:00 Tweedie Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been suspects on site. Access was gained through the back fence. Cable was stolen.

19 July 2025 11:50 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS on-site Security Guard requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had been apprehended for stealing shoes and clothing. SAPS were formally advised. KSS handed the matter over to SAPS. A case was opened.

19 July 2025 17:10 D292 (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that two suspects had been seen carrying two bags of cabbages but fled when they realised they had been seen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

20 July 2025 11:10 D292 (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room was advised about a positive break-in. KSS response teams, a technician and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by crawling under the main gate. Batteries and a solar panel were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

21 July 2025 21:30 Prospect Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS on-site Security Guard requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that two suspects had tried to steal pallets but dropped them and fled when they realised they had been seen. The pallets were recovered and returned to the client. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

21 July 2025 11:55 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the client had seen a suspect on the CCTV camera. A window was broken. The suspect fled. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

22 July 2025 07:04 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS on-site Security Guard requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been an attempted break-in through a window, but no access was gained. Nothing was stolen.

24 July 2025 08:12 Symmonds Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a break-in. Access was gained through the open bathroom window and burglar bars, with exit through the back door. Electronic items and cash were stolen while the resident was asleep. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

27 July 2025 16:08 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS on-site Security Guard requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a customer had tried to exit the premises through the wrong gate and driven into the signage. KSS handed the incident over to site management and matter was dealt with.

28 July 2025 07:36 Laurel Crescent (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a door off the caravan had been stolen. KSS will investigate further.

29 July 2025 16:52 Market Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been an intruder. A window was broken. An item was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

30 July 2025 12:48 Symmonds Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a message stating there was a suspect on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect fled. Nothing was stolen. As per the owner no need for SAPS. KSS Officers noted that the garden was very over-grown and created an unsafe environment. KSS Officers advised the client about trimming the vegetation.

30 July 2025 16:03 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site. A hose pipe was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

31 July 2025 10:37 Saligna Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect one site. Access was gained through the back fence. Batteries were stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.
