KSS Incidents 1 – 15 August 2025
1 August 2025 08:00 Saligna Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the fence was bent but no access was gained. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols.

2 August 2025 13:00 Zeederberg Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had been apprehended for being aggressive. SAPS were advised and responded. KSS handed the incident over to SAPS. The matter was resolved.

2 August 2025 15:31 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been attempted break-in. Access was gained through a garage window. Nothing was stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS.

3 August 2025 14:38 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from an on-site Security Guard requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that that a customer had treated a cashier inappropriately and was apprehended. SAPS were advised and KSS handed the customer over to SAPS.

3 August 2025 16:46 Buchanan Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a notification about stolen items. A KSS Response Team and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had been apprehended, and stolen items recovered. SAPS were formally advised. The suspect was handed over to SAPS.

6 August 2025 09:50 Karkloof Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been an intruder on site who fled. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

7 August 2025 07:40 Birnamwood Road (Birnamwood) The KSS Control Room received a notification requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the client was worried that horses had been stolen. The KSS Officers investigated and found the horses lying down sleeping. No injuries were reported. Very happy and relieved client.

7 August 2025 12:44 Wapenaar Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site. Access was gained by jumping over the wall. Nothing was stolen but an aluminum pool pole had been broken. As per the client no need for SAPS.

9 August 2025 02:45 Old Main Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room were advised about a MVA. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a vehicle had lost control and crashed through the fence. The driver fled. Midlands EMS were dispatched, and the injured passenger was attended to. SAPS were formally advised. KSS placed a Security Guard on site.

10 August 2025 06:15 D735 Curries Post Road (Curries Post) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a caravan had been broken into. Access was gained over the fence. Various copper and metal items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

11 August 2025 07:56 Oleander Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a positive break-in. Cables, a generator and a compressor were stolen. Access was gained by jumping over the fence. SAPS was formally advised. A case was opened.

11 August 2025 08:52 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that suspects had broken into two vehicles parked on site and stolen the batteries. SAPS were formally advised.

11 August 2025 14:45 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a wendyhouse had been broken into. Access was gained by jumping over the low wall and reaching through the damaged wooden door of the wendyhouse. Various gardening tools were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS conducted additional patrols.

12 August 2025 13:47 Market Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the garage had been broken into. Various electric tools were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

13 August 2025 08:35 Pin Oak Avenue (Hilton) The KSS Control Room was advised about an attempted break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been an attempted break-in and the lock on the gate had been damaged. Nothing was stolen.

13 August 2025 17:07 Oleander Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a DB box had been tampered with. Eskom was advised. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

14 August 2025 10:24 Market Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a young male had been mugged. His cell phone was stolen. The suspects fled in vehicle. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

14 August 2025 10:52 Market Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been a suspect on site who fled when he was spotted. Access was gained by jumping over the front gate. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

15 August 2025 11:05 Karkloof Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that it appears that there had been an intruder on-site.

17 August 2025 03:20 Symmonds Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a patrolling KSS Officer stating that he had apprehended a suspect in possession of stolen items. The client was contacted, and SAPS were dispatched. Numerous stolen items were recovered. KSS handed the suspect over to SAPS. A case was opened.

17 August 2025 11:22 Randworth Road (Durban) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client stating that a truck battery had been stolen. KSS Management attended and conducted a site risk assessment and made recommendations for more CCTV coverage.

17 August 2025 13:09 Patterson Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from Ballid Security requesting assistance to an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was suspect outside the property stealing avo’s. The suspect fled and dropped the bag of avo’s. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

18 August 2025 01:48 Winterwood Lane (Merrivale Heights) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there were suspects on site but fled when Armed Response arrived. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

18 August 2025 08:25 Wilson Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room was advised about break-ins to vehicles on the premises. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that access was gained by jumping over the wall. Two unlocked vehicles were broken into. Nothing was stolen. As per the client they would go to SAPS and report the incident.

19 August 2025 12:11 Gush Avenue (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there were suspects on-site in the neighbours garden stealing metal furniture. The suspects fled. Items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

20 August 2025 01:15 Karkloof Road (Karkloof) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation showing a suspect on site. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect fled when the sensor light activated. Nothing was stolen.

21 August 2025 09:40 Leonard’s Road (Hilton) The KSS Control Room received a call from the client requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect was stealing numbers from properties. The KSS Officers spotted the suspect and gave chase. The suspect fled, but the bag of house numbers was recovered and returned to the client who stated they would share the information on the community group and add KSS to the group. As per the client no need for SAPS.
